Cargoes

A section of the poem "Cargoes" by John Masefield. It reads even better when spoken with a Tom Waits voice.

Newcastle

the train rumbled itself into being
took me further still from you
passed river, brick and spire
and carts of fish and fruit
one hundred hungry nights
fueled the longing of a fool
for the soft touch of a woman
in a world both kind and cruel
